It’s been almost 2 years since my last post and I’m under no delusions that any followers I may have gained in my very short time blogging have been long lost to another bibliophile.
And on that note, I need to add….. it was never, ever about gaining followers.
I began writing this blog because I couldn’t find another blog like it anywhere else. Reading is my escape so naturally, I read a lot. Each and every time I pick up a new novel I can easily find myself immersed in a new destination, a time period and a new kind of world. I don’t just read a book and fall in love with it, I fan-girl – hard.

Sunscreen is like a foreign substance – very confusing and difficult to decipher. Don’t let people lead you astray, choosing the right sunscreen is a real commitment. If you are currently not using sunscreen on your face, neck and décolletage every single day you need to start immediately. Daily application is key to preventing premature skin aging, skin cancer, and free radicals.

Last summer I recieved an email from Barnes and Noble letting me know the top beach reads of 2013 and little blurbs about each book they listed. Upon reading the blurb for On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves something (that disgusted me) stood out – the romantic relationship between a 30 year old and a 16 year old. I distinctly remember reading the blurb out loud to my Mom and saying uhhh gross. If anything the 14 year age gap interested me enough to read the reviews, I needed to see how Graves planned to write this without sickening the world to death. Had it not been for the outstanding reviews I would have been too repelled to read it. Continue reading “On the Island”
A few weeks ago I was perusing my local Sephora when this serum caught my eye. I have always been an anti-serum advocate especially if you are generously oiling brows nightly. These days having extra money in my account each week is a luxury so what did I do? I made an impulse buy but I will not give Sephora its due for catching me in its snares, the buy was slightly premeditated. In a few days I will finally be getting my eyebrows shaped by Joey Healy after 7 months of not so much as tweezing a single hair. Woohoo! Continue reading “Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum Advanced”
Eyebrows are a defining feature – there is no negotiating on that point. If you have come into this post thinking this could be an overnight miracle then I’m afraid you have come to the wrong place. Nothing can grow your eyebrows back overnight but with patience and dedication, you can begin to get your eyebrows back on track in 6 months. Regrowing your eyebrows is a slow and agonizing journey that needs to be undertaken if your brows are in need of rehab.
If you have a disposable income you may be lured into buying the expensive creams marketed towards softening the fine lines around your eyes, mouth, and forehead. Those creams may indeed soften those lines but they cannot compare to full, well-groomed brows. A nice set of brows can take years off a face.
If you don’t have full eyebrows naturally, don’t fret! Not every woman is as well endowed as say… the lovely leading lady of The Mortal Instruments Lily Collins. Even though I thought Collins was too beautiful for the role of Clary Fray I did appreciate the dead on style. Clary would never apply a ton of makeup or even a little for that matter, she is always bloodstained, sweaty and crying. At the end of the day, Collins was, in fact, a solid choice since great eyebrows were an absolute must for whoever took up the role of Clary. Her eyebrows are stunning and from what I read she rarely needs to put a product in them. Collins has the kind of eyebrows that will make her entire face look absolutely great without makeup. As a woman, isn’t that what we strive to achieve more often than not?
